Description
The Koi Fish has a long history as a symbol of luck and happiness. Native to China, koi were first bred in Japan. In the 10th century they were sacred fish, reserved only for royalty. Today they are still primarily used as decorative pond fish, though there is evidence that some breeders use their eggs in the pharmaceutical industry.
